If you have a great social media strategy but find that the organic reach of your posts on Facebook tends to fluctuate a lot…. You’re not alone.
However, it doesn’t have to stay that way. Thanks to Facebook’s newest tool that allows you to make A/B tests, you now have the opportunity to try out different content and see which one performs best.
How the Facebook Post Testing Tool Works
The first thing you have to do when you want to test a post is to create different variations of it. Think of different elements of your content that you would like to test and you suspect might be something your audience will interact/engage with. According to this Social Media Examiner blog post, you need four variations.
Once you plug these variations into the tool, Facebook will start working its magic. The first thing it will do is distribute these different variations of content to samples of your audience. Facebook will then track all of the engagement these different types of content get among the different samples and be able to identify which one gets the best response.
The best part? Only the winning content gets posted to your page AND it's done automatically.
See how this tool can help you crush your social media marketing game? Not only the Facebook Post Testing Tool allows you to save time and money, but it also helps gain a better understanding of what works and what your audience wants to see from you.
And you know what happens when your content aligns perfectly with what your audience wants?! You achieve your marketing goals! So whether your goal is to get a conversion, a lead, or simply engagement, this FREE tool is a game-changer.
How to Use the Facebook Post Testing Tool
The Facebook Post Testing Tool can be found in the Creator Studio. Once you’re in there, click on “Content Library” in the menu located on the left-hand side of the screen. Then, select “Post Testing” in the drop-down menu. At this point, a blue button will appear; click on it to start testing.
Select “Image” or “Video” under the content type. Once your content is uploaded, fill out the rest of the information Facebook asks you to do. Then, click on “Schedule Test”.
At this point, the “Test Settings” window will appear. Make sure to enter how long you want your test to last, which metric you want to track in this test, and voilà! You’re ready to start running your tests. Once the test is complete, you don't need to do anything as Facebook will automatically post to your page the winning content.
As you can see, Facebook on its own is a powerful tool for your marketing strategy and these tools are only making it better. If you have any questions on how this new tool works or how you can interpret the data after running a few tests, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
