Getting Motivated for 2022: How to Get Excited About Your Social in the New Year

So you have a killer social media strategy, you've established your content pillars, and your branding is on point.

But as you open the spreadsheet that maps out your content for the next month, you find yourself staring at that spreadsheet, wondering what the heck you should create.

And that’s normal. From my own personal and professional experience, creativity alone is not something that I can rely on. But there is something you and I can do to help get the creative juices flowing. And that is to TAKE ACTION.

So instead of waiting in front of your computer until a EUREKA! moment or inspiration hits you, a good idea would be to browse the following sources for inspiration…

Answer the public

This website is absolute GOLD! Type a keyword that relates to your industry and you will see a list of popular questions that people are searching for online. Then, pick a few questions and run with them! The great thing about this website is that you get your first few searches for free, so you don’t need to worry about paying for a subscription.

Google Trends

Wonder what topics are trending? Make your way to trends.google.com and see for yourself! Whether there’s a topic that relates directly to your industry or a topic that can be applied in some shape or form to your industry, this is an awesome place to make sure you’re talking about topics that people are interested in at the moment.

The only thing to keep in mind here is that trends tend to come and go pretty quickly; so if you find a trend you like, make sure to make use of it sooner rather than later.

Industry Trade Publications and Blogs

No matter what industry you’re in, there are TONS of trade publications or blogs you are already consuming regularly. Next time you read those articles, look out for topics you can use for your brand on social media.

Social Media Feeds

Scrolling through your Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok feed is a method for which I PROMISE you will find more than enough inspiration for your social media content. Whether you spy on your competitors or search content through relevant hashtags, this may be one of my favorite spots to find content inspiration. And the reason why is because I can easily see what content is performing for brands that have the same target market and audience as me. This can significantly cut down the amount of time it takes for me to test different types of content out.

YouTube

YouTube is bursting with social media content ideas. If anything, one single educational video can give you a full month’s worth of content inspiration. Search for content with industry-related keywords and you’ll find tons of relevant videos and topics that you can use for your brand.

Reddit

Wondering what your target audience’s pain points are? No need to wonder anymore, because they’re most probably talking about it on Reddit!

Reddit is a gold mine of opportunities when it comes to finding inspiration for social media content because everything is directly coming out of the mouth of the audience you care to cater to. Couldn’t be any easier for you!

While there are plenty of other places you can browse through to find inspiration for your social media content, the ones I covered in this blog are the ones where I constantly find what I need.

Do you look for inspiration in other places? Share them with me! I’d love to know.
